Back in September, Capcom Vancouver announced that they are reviving the Puzzle Fighter series with a new title on iOS and Android, aptly named Puzzle Fighter. Today, they revealed that the title will finally be exiting its soft launch and be releasing on iOS and Android devices later this week.

For those of you who don't know, Puzzle Fighter is based off an arcade title of the same name that has players crushing gems with the power of Capcom characters in order to defeat their opponent. The game doesn't just encompass the Street Fighter series, as characters from titles like Darkstalkers, Mega Man X, and Dead Rising also appear. Each character has a special voice over and cinematic special moves, along with their own strengths and weaknesses. Two support characters can also be chosen to help boost the main character so they do better in battle.

The game was built from the ground up by Capcom Vancouver and features modernized graphics, leaderboard support, online play, and a Color Blind mode. Puzzle Fighter will also be free to play, so curious players can try it out and get a feeling for the game at no cost. Capcom Vancouver says the game is easy to learn, but there is tons of deeper strategy for players to sink their teeth into.
