Today, Bethesda Softworks has launched new update, for Quake Champions, which introduces a slew of new features into the game, including a new champion, weapon, map, as well as modifications to gameplay.

An enemy who first debuted in 1997's Quake II, Strogg is half military-grade metal, half-decaying flesh, and 100% ready to annihilate is competition. In addition to this grotesque individual being added to the roster, players also have control of Strogg’s sidekick Peeker. An airborne AI drone that will shoot explosives at your adversaries.

Some notable features that make Strogg a distinct champion is his ability to turn the enemies you kill into a nutritional paste called Stroylent, which increases your health by 25 points. However, if other players are using Strogg during the match, they can steal your Stroylent.

Up next is the new map, Awoken. This new arena will have gamers navigating through an obscure labyrinth and can be played in the following modes: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Duel, 2v2, and Instagib.

Alongside a new champion and player, April's update also introduces a new weapon into the roster, the Plasma Gun. Initially debuting in Quake III Arena, the Plasma Gun has returned and serves as an alternative version for the Super Nailgun and even replaces both the model and projectiles with the classic firearm.

Finally, the new update also adds several tweaks to the overall title. Such as Daily Rewards now being provided when players log in for the first time in a day and a new player UI guide that helps provides players a kickstart to being a master of the game. While all these new features are impressive, to say the least, the publisher has promised that additional features will be added as the game progresses towards a full release.
