Quantum Break is steaming ahead towards its release on on Xbox One and Windows 10 April 5th, and today Xbox Games Marketing Head Aaron Greenberg mentioned a few interesting pieces of information during Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb’s podcast
First of all, Microsoft is working on another TV commercial for the game, that’s in Production right now. Greenberg reviewed it on the day the podcast was recorded. He also mentioned that it’ll include licensed music.
That seems to indicate that it’ll come with a song from a well known artist, even if we’ll have to wait and see who it will be.
Secondly, Greenberg was asked if there will be a Steam release, but he denied the possibility, mentioning that Quantum Break for Windows 10 is going to be a Windows Store exclusive.
Thirdly, he clarified that the achievements for the game will be a single set, shared across Windows 10 and Xbox One, pretty much like the old Games for Windows Live used to work. If you unlock an achievement on Xbox One, you won’t need to unlock it on Windows and vice-versa.
Last, but not least, he gave his opinion on the game:
“We’ve been busy launching all our our Holiday titles, so we’ve been kind of quiet on Quantum Break, but we’ve been working very closely with the team at Remedy, and they’re frankly making, I think, another masterpiece. They have a great heritage of making incredible games. I’ll tell you one of my favorite games was Max Payne, I played that to the end. Then there was Max Payne 2, another great title, Alan Wake, just a fantastic, fantastic game. And I think one of the most anticipated title we’re releasing is Quantum Break.”
It’ll definitely be interesting to see how far the game will go. Personally, I’m quite excited to finally play it, and I’m curious to see what kind of music Microsoft licensed for the TV commercial.
