While the title might seem obvious, id Software's big fall release, Rage, is going to encompass three disks on the XBox 360 and an 8 Gb install on PS3.  This news comes from an interview over at Digital Foundry taken during the Eurogamer Expo. Eight gigs is a lot of space.  The Gran Turismo install was just over 8 Gb and took about 50 minutes on my PlayStation 3.  That said, the interview makes it clear that Rage is a big game.

The interview is actually very interesting, and I highly recommend reading it.   The creative director over at id, Tim Willits, had some interesting things to say.  He discusses id's strategy and approach to making a game, reminiscences a bit about the past, explains the size of the game, not just in terms of hard drive space, but in the overall scope, talks about the technology of id tech 5, the engine behind Rage and discusses the transition from PC to consoles.  If nothing else, it should make for some good, lazy Sunday reading.
