Raiden Shogun Voice Actor in Genshin Impact - Who is Miyuki Sawashiro?
What you need to know about Miyuki Sawashiro, the legendary seiyuu who voices the Raiden Shogun of Inazuma in Genshin Impact
The Genshin Impact livestream for Version 2.0 is still ongoing, and the Japanese Twitter for the series just officially revealed Raiden Shogun is voiced by legendary seiyuu (Japanese voice actor/ actress) Miyuki Sawashiro.
Raiden Shogun is the next Archon character we’ll meet in Genshin Impact. She’s the Archon that rules Inazuma, also known as Baal and the God of Eternity. Meanwhile, Miyuki Sawashiro is so popular and in so many shows you’ve definitely heard her voice at least once if you’ve been watching anime for even a year.

Genshin Impact Raiden Shogun voice actor – Who is Miyuki Sawashiro?
Miyuki Sawashiro started voicing anime characters when she was still in middle school. She participated in an audition organized by Japanese company Broccoli, and won the Jury award. Thanks to that, she made her seiyuu debut by voicing Puchiko in Di Gi Charat in 1999. She was 14 years old.
Di Gi Charat is an incredible series you should definitely check out if you haven’t yet. The series recently celebrated its 24th anniversary and is getting a new anime poject titled Reiwa no Di GI Charat. It got announced during a pretty fun livestream this June with Asami Sanada (Dejiko), Kyoko Hikami (Rabi en Rose), and Miyuki Sawashiro (Puchiko).
Anyways, since then, Miyuki Sawashiro voiced hundreds of popular characters. To take some of the most mainstream and popular examples:
- Sinon in Sword Art Online
- Camilla in Fire Emblem Fates
- Elizabeth in Persona 3
- Kurapika in Hunter x Hunter (since the 2011 anime remake)
Sawashiro is also the current seiyuu of Mine Fujiko in Lupin The Third. Her latest role is Brunhilde in the Record of Ragnarok anime. She regularly voices strong and cool women, but is also one of the most versatile seiyuu of all time, and can do an incredible range of voices.
Personally speaking, my favorite Miyuki Sawashiro roles are Kotoha in Yozakura Quartet and Dlanor.A.Knox in Umineko.
- INAZUMA – (Nearly) all of the Raiden Shogun lore so far
Miyuki Sawashiro and Raiden Mei in Honkai Impact 3rd
It’s interesting to note that Miyuki Sawashiro also voiced Raiden Mei in Honkai Impact 3rd. Both Raiden Shogun and Raiden Mei are now more connected than ever. Ever since the lore of Genshin first mentioned Raiden Shogun, many fans expected her to be similar to Raiden Mei from Honkai, and miHoYo definitely did that on purpose.
Anyways, I still gotta watch the livestream so peace out. Keep in mind you can always reach out to me to chat about seiyuu and otaku stuff on Twitter @A_iyane07.
