Rainbow Six Siege Gets First Details on Operation Grim Sky in Its Upcoming Season 3

Rainbow Six Siege's next expansion, Operation Grim Sky, will be bringing in two new Operators, a Defender from Great Britain and an American Attacker

Ubisoft has revealed some details of the Rainbow Six Siege expansion, Operation Grim Sky, that will be making its way to Siege‘s Season 3. The publisher was adamant not to give too much away, saving a lot of their content for the Six Major Paris, Paris Expo – Porte de Versailles from August 13th to 19th.

What they have revealed, however, are two new badass Operators: a Defender from Great Britain who’s a hard nut cop where her expertise lays within riot behavior and snatch-squad tactics. She has great confidence and can stand on the front-line with the best of them.  The second Operator is an American Attacker, a specialist who’s exceptionally agile-minded when it comes to tactical operations. He has seen the worst in Kabul but despite it all, he fell in love with the city. Legendary for his surgical precision, he remains an enigma within Rainbow Six.

Despite their differences, these two Operators come together in joining Rainbow Six’s Urban Tactical Response Team, codenamed Grim Sky (or GSUTR for short)

Ubisoft also treated players with introducing their first map rework called Hereford Base, which was one of Siege‘s first maps and introduced in the beta. The map will receive an overhaul for competitive play and also hinted about the chance of rain.

Ubisoft declared the following on their official blog:

“A few gameplay enhancements are also making their way into Operation Grim Sky. Following a lengthy test phase, we’re bringing forth much-anticipated modifications to address the weapon sights misalignment. But that’s not all! In our constant pursuit to improve the game and the player experience, an adjustment with the Operator Idle Pick as well as dynamic resolution scaling for consoles are also on their way. Make sure to play on our test server and submit your feedback on R6 Fix.”

Last month, Ubisoft announced that special operators from Rainbow Six Siege Valkyrie, Twitch, and Caveira would make their way into Ghost Recon: Wildlands in a special mission called Operation Archangel as well as their last update, Operation Para Bellum, which saw a new map and two new Operators. That was one very busy month for Rainbow Six Siege!

Ubisoft is planning on fully revealing Operation Grim Sky in the coming weeks, as a part of the Six Major Paris via the Rainbow Six Twitch channel.

Rainbow Six Siege is available now on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. If you have yet to pick up the game, you can do that right now over on Amazon.
