Revealed last month, the new Rainbow Six Siege Operation Shifting Tides update is now live. Bringing two new Operators, a map rework, and new features to Ubisoft's tactical shooter, this is the last content update for Year 4.

The attack Operator for Year 4 Season 4 (Y4S4) is Kali. Equipped with the CSRX 300, the first bolt-action sniper rifle to be added to Rainbow Six Siege, she is an incredibly deadly Operator. Just one shot to the body is an instant down, while headshots are instant kills. You will also be able to shoot down wooden barriers with just one shot. Her secondary, the C75-auto, gives her some options so you aren't stuck using a long-range rifle for the duration of the match.

The defense Operator for Y4S4 is Wamai. Unlike most defense Operators, this new addition is equipped with an assault rifle, the AUG A2. His gadget, the Mag-NET, is a throwable that can stick to any surface. The gadget will detect just about any projectile and bring it to its position. It then self-destructs, detonating the captured projectile. It has a pretty large area of effect, so adding one or two to any given room covers a ton of ground.

The last few previous season updates, Y4S4 brings a new map rework to Rainbow Six Siege with Theme Park. Outside of some light adjustments, added landmarks, and the brighter color palette, the map is virtually the same. Except for that train section. That got completely torn out.

The biggest feature being added via the Rainbow Six Siege Operation Shifting Tides update is limb penetration. Weapons fit into three tiers: none, simple, and full. No penetration guns, which include shotguns and machine pistols, will not be able to go through limbs. Simple penetration guns, including assault rifles, submachine guns, and pistols, will be able to go through limbs, but only affect the opponent that got shot. Lastly, full penetration guns, which include marksman rifles and sniper rifles, will go through limbs and can affect other Operators

It should be noted that damage received if shot through the arm, hands, and legs will be reduced to 75%. Operators with 3 armor will receive only 65% damage.
