Earlier this week, Ubisoft teased the first operation for Year 2 (or Season 2) of Rainbow Six Siege, called Velvet Shell.

Being the first big update of the game's Year 2 content, Velvet Shell will add a new map and two operators from Spain. For those that don't know how Rainbow Six Siege updates work: the map will be free to everyone, while the two operators will be free for Year 2 Season Pass holders (they can also be unlocked with Renown or R6 Credit).

Further details weren't divulged -- beyond the new preview trailer for the new map -- but we do know that Ubisoft plants to stream a live demo of Velvet Shell on February 5, 2017 at 7 AM PST.

As mentioned above, a new trailer detailing the Operation's new map -- Coastline, which is located on the mediterranean island of Ibiza, Spain -- has been released. Available in PVP and PVE, the following brief description of the map is provided:

Get ready for an effervescent night ambiance with neon lights of bars and open-air parties, which Ibiza is famous for. Daytime is a hazy afternoon on a hot summer day after a long night out.

Rainbow Six Siege is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can read more about the game's Year 2 content here.
