Yesterday, Ubisoft revealed the first Operator from Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege upcoming Operation, Velvet Shell. Velvet Shell is the first Operation of the game's Year 2 content:  it adds a new map and two operators from Spain. One of these Operators is called Jackal.

According to Ubisoft, Jackal is an Operator focused on gathering intel on enemy positions and movements, and will make things more dangerous "for lone wolves roaming away from the team." The operator comes with a special light-and-goggle combo on his head, which is what allows him to see enemy footprints on the ground.

Beyond the above mentioned details, Ubisoft did not reveal anything else about Jackal. However, a full reveal of the Operators and a live demo of the Velvet Shell DLC is set to take place during the Six Invitational from February 3-6. You can check out the full schedule for the weekend’s tournament and panels, here.

Being the first big update of the Rainbow Six Siege Year 2 content, Velvet Shell  will work like all previous updates: the map will be free to everyone, while the two operators will be free for Year 2 Season Pass holders, or unlocked with Renown or R6 Credit.

Rainbow Six Siege is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can read more about the game’s Year 2 content here. Below, you can check out the new trailer:
