One of the more surprising announcements from E3 2018's PC Gaming Show was Rapture Rejects, a top-down battle royale game based on the popular comedy web series Cyanide & Happiness developed by Galvanic and tinyBuild. Several alphas and betas for the game have been held for the game since then, though we finally learned that Rapture Rejects would be hitting Steam Early Access on November 29 today.

For those who don't know, the game sees people who didn't transcend during the rapture duking it out, battle royale style. The game seems to retain Cyandie & Happiness' distinctly funny and crude tone while also standing out within the now overcrowded battle royale seen due to its distinct visual style and top-down perspective.

Battles will consist of 50 players, with the winner transcending to heaven. According to the game's Steam Page, Rapture Rejects will be in Early Access until Early 2020. When it launches, the game will contain a lot more weapons, perks, items, procedurally generated environments, character modifiers, and social/matchmaking improvements.

Considering the level of success games like PUBG and Fortnite reached, it will be interesting to see how successful Rapture Rejects is because it has such an established and popular brand behind it. That being said, it's still entirely possible for the game to underperform; hopefully, it won't do as bad as other failed battle royale titles like The Culling 2 and Radical Heights.

Rapture Rejects will hit PC via Early Access next Thursday, November 29. tinyBuild is promising that a launch trailer will come over the next couple days, but for now we only have the following GIF from it.
