With its announcement at this year's E3 2015, the Rare Replay collection was one of the more unexpected but pleasant surprises to come from Microsoft's press conference, and since its release last week has been breaking some unique records for Rare.

According to data from the UK-based GFK Chart-Track, which monitors sales of video games in the UK, Rare Replay topped the overall sales charts in a relatively slow period for new game releases, while also breaking some records of its own.

Chart-Track reported that Rare Replay is the first title from developer Rare to top the UK sales charts at #1 since 1998, with the last title from the company to do so being Banjo-Kazooie when it originally released 17 years ago.

In addition, the sales data from Rare Replay also marks the title as the first Xbox One exclusive to chart at #1 in UK sales, with the company noting that while Titanfall topped at #1 during its release last year, the game was also available on PC at launch, and therefore not quite qualifying as a pure Xbox One exclusive.

The top 10 list for games sales through the week of August 8th, 2015 is below:

  1. Rare Replay
  2. Lego Jurassic Park
  3. Batman: Arkham Knight
  4. The Elder Scrolls Online
  5. Grand Theft Auto 5
  6. FIFA 15
  7. Battlefield Hardline
  8. Rory McIlroy PGA Tour
  9. F1 2015
  10. Minecraft: Xbox Edition

Rare Replay is available now for Xbox One, as a collection which celebrates Rare's 30th anniversary and includes 30 of the company's most iconic and well known games throughout its history.
