Insomniac Games have just announced via the Playstation Blog that a Ratchet & Clank movie is coming out to a theater near you, in 2015.

Yes, you read that right: Ratchet, Clank, and Captain Quark are going from your TV screens to the silver screen. Insomniac's very own Ratchet & Clank writer, T.J. Fixman--who has written all of the recent Ratchet & Clank games--will be writing the script for the movie, while Blockade Entertainment and Rainmaker Entertainment are producing the film.

Blockade Entertainment has been around for a nearly a decade, and known for taking existing video game assets to create television series, webisodes, game trailers, commercials, and DVD films.

Rainmaker Entertainment is a studio that many of you may be familiar with: especially when it used to be called Mainframe Entertainment. As Mainframe Entertainment, Rainmaker was the first to produce fully 3-D animated TV shows, including many fan-favorites series, like Beast Wars: Transformers (and its follow-up Beast Machines: Transformers), Action Man, the Barbie movies, and, oh, this little series you may have heard about called ReBoot (which is still one of my favorite series of all time).

You can view the teaser below, and remember why you love the series so much with the upcoming Ratchet & Clank sale on the PSN that starts on April 30th.
