Announced at CES 2023, the Razer Edge will be "the world's first 5G gaming console", allowing users to take their Xbox games on the go with cloud gaming. The new handheld console will launch on January 26th with three different versions, all at varying price points, available to reserve right now via the company's official website.

Razer says that the exclusive Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 delivers unrivalled performance, whilst the 144Hz AMOLED display will offer incredible clarity at high speeds. Razer's upcoming handheld console will also be the world's first device powered by the Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 chipset, which is an active-cooled gaming chip with a 3 GHz Kryo CPU, purpose-built to play Android games at high framerates over long play sessions.

Boasting an impressive 6.8" 144Hz AMOLED FHD+ touch screen, Razer says the new Razer Edge will "ensure your games look better and run smoother than the competition." In total, there are three different versions of the Razer Edge available for reservation, the Wi-Fi edition, Founders Edition, and the 5G edition.

In terms of pricing, the Razer Edge Wi-Fi retailers at $399.99, whilst the founder's edition comes in at $499.99. A price for the Razer Edge 5G has yet to be confirmed by the company and is currently listed as "Coming Soon" on the Razer website.

A full comparison of the three versions can be found on the official Razer website, but at a glance, there isn't much separating the three devices. All three editions come with the same chipset, screen, storage, battery, and controller options, but what separates them is the audio and connectivity options.

All three come with Wi-Fi 6E, but the 5G Razer Edge will, of course, come with a 5G embedded eSIM, as well as Boomcloud 360 audio, as opposed to the THX Spatial Audio on the other two devices. For those who purchase the founders' edition of the Razer Edge, you'll also receive the Razer Hammerhead True Wireless headphones.

An accompanying blog post by Xbox was also released after the announcement, detailing how players will be able to take their Xbox games on the go with the new Razer Edge and Xbox Cloud Gaming. "We’re excited to partner with Razer to bring Xbox Cloud Gaming to its newest handheld console," Xbox said.
