Here's how you can see another day by getting past all of those Lycans.

Resident Evil Village will put players in tricky situations where they will come up against all kinds of monsters and creatures after their blood.

If you're into that sort of thing, you'll be glad to know that you get your first taste of battle pretty early on in the game while taking a wander around the spooky and tense village.

As you explore each house, you eventually come across a home where an old man is hiding. Thankfully, he gives you a pistol just as the cries and roars of creatures outside the house become louder.

When the old man bites the bullet after a Lycan bursts into the house, this is when the battle really begins.

How to Survive the Lycan Attack

This particular part requires players to take a deep breath and remain as calm as possible. By doing that, you'll find things much quicker and the whole ordeal will be over sooner.

Your shotgun is your friend so make sure you pick that up including any ammo laying around and also grab the bolt cutters from the table to get through the gate.

Once through, make your way to the house in front of you and barricade yourself in by moving the bookshelf in front of the door. When the Lycans come, don't waste precious ammo until one actually breaks through.

Save your Ammo

You'll notice that after killing the Lycan, things have calmed down a bit so head straight out the door and you'll notice a trail of blood for you to follow. This then leads you to an area where there's a house with Lycans looking down at you, waiting.

Your best bet is to keep your distance from them and keep moving or they will attack and you really don't want that right now. There is also a red gate in front of you that you can't open just yet. As the monsters eventually move towards you, they stand by a red explosive barrel that you can easily shoot to kill a few bystanders.

As you make a getaway towards the red gate, a giant Lycan jumps down in front of you, smashing the ground with its huge hammer. I wouldn't bother trying to attack this beast. Once the cutscene ends and the hordes retreat by the ringing of bells just as they are about to lay into you, the red gate will now open and also where the witch will greet you on the other side.

I would recommend looking around before you leave for crates, ammo and other bits and bobs to help you on your journey towards Castle Dimitrescu.
