Unless you’ve been living under a rock, LeVar Burton is trying to bring back the Peabody- and Emmy Award-winning children’s television series Reading Rainbow and to accomplish this feat he is raising funds via Kickstarter.

As of now the campaign has surpassed its 1 million dollar goal raising $3,085,821 with 32 more days to go. This money will help the organization provide free reading software for to 1,500 needy schools.

If the campaign reachs its $5 million stretch goals, Reading Rainbow could fly high onto consoles and mobile. Burton informed backers in a recent video,

With $5 million, we can get to mobile, we can do Android, we can definitely do Xbox and PlayStation, we can do set-top boxes and we can get to at least 7,500 schools for free.

If the campaign continues at the rate it’s going, this could easily be accomplished.

Former genius and a woman of mystery and power, whose power is exceeded only by her mystery, Dana Abercrombie has been playing video games since birth (yes birth...we did say "genius"). Despite her secret desire of wanting to give it all up to become a gorgeous billionaire, Dana is most passionate about video games and films often times getting in many heated debates resulting in being thrown out of many gatherings. Despite having a degree in English AND Journalism (multi-tasking FTW!) from the University at Albany-SUNY, she is currently interested in perusing a degree at Yale Law School, because one should never give up on a dream of becoming a gorgeous billionaire...and knowing how to sue someone as a result of those heated debates
