Real Boxing For iOS turns your iPad into a Motion Sensor

With the advent of smartglass and all the talk of how phones and tablets have the potential to be consoles in and of themselves, it only stood to reason that some developer would take the iPad’s hardware and put it to extra use. Real Boxing by Vivid Games boasts ultra realistic graphics and, judging by their newest “V-Gesture” trailer, motion controls through the use of the iPad’s front facing camera. Players who opted for the tablet over a Kinect or Playstation move (also known as smart consumers) will be able to get their little bit of wild flailing in as well.

I’m sure this is not the first use of gesture controls on the iPad, but it is pretty impressive, nonetheless. You can view the trailer below. Even if boxing isn’t your thing, it is a good example of everyday devices having the power to be their own consoles.
