The indie development studio Double Damage games have announced Rebel Galaxy Outlaw. The game was described as a sort-of prequel to the first entry into the series Rebel Galaxy.  The developers are aiming for a Q1 2019 release window on PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.

Travis Baldree, Co-Founder of Double Damage Games, described this title as the most ambitious game he has ever worked on. He stated:

“We took what worked from the last title, and then went a little crazy. It’s got a stronger focus on story and place, a huge jump in detail, and while it still works great for folks with a HOTAS at home, I think we’ve managed to make space combat accessible and fun for everybody else in a way that nobody has managed before. We’ve got a lot more to share in the months ahead”

Rebel Galaxy Outlaw will be set 34 years prior to the first game and will be in a series of star systems closer to earth. This time around, players will take control of Juno Markev, a smuggler who has just gotten back into the thieving game after some events dragged her back into it.

The game will feature 20 hours of music, more side activities than the previous game, and a space combat system described as gleefully unrealistic which I absolutely love.

On top of all of that, a new cinematic trailer was released which you can watch below. Rebel Galaxy Outlaw is set to release in Q1 of 2019 for PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
