Recettear Publisher Does Well in 2010, Announces a New Project

Recettear: An Item Shop’s Tale is a great game and apparently I’m not the only one who feels that way. Over the course of 2010, since it’s release, it has been downloaded over 100,000 times. That’s pretty good for a little indie Japanese title being localized for North America, don’t you think?

The studio that brought Recettear over here, Carpe Fulgar, has done pretty well this year so they are localizing another indie Japanese RPG, this time around it’s Chantelise. The focus of this new title is more straight up action RPG. It focuses on two girls – Chante and Elise, sisters even. Chante disobeys their parents one day, wanders around someplace she shouldn’t and magically gets changed into a fairy of some sort. So, Elise and her go off in search of the person who did this and to get her changed back to normal.

If you’re into the cute anime stylings of Recettear, you’ll likely want to pay close attention as Chantelise is localized and released this year. Keep your eyes on this one, folks! Hit the break to check out a trailer for the game.
