Record of Ragnarok Season 2 confirmed

The tweet states that the second season is in production, but with no further information. We have no release date for Record of Ragnarok Season 2 yet. Season 1 was handled by animation production Graphinica so it’s likely it’s continuing on for Season 2. It’s also been confirmed character designer Masaki Satô will return, seeing he drew the S2 key visual.

Moreover, the tweet also states that the first season will be broadcast on several channels in Japan: Tokyo MX, BS11, MBS, and Cartoon Network. Previously, Record of Ragnarok was a Netflix exclusive.

More on Record of Ragnarok (Shuumatsu no Walküre)

Record of Ragnarok started in 2017 as a manga series in Japan titled Shuumatsu no Walküre published in Comic Zenon / Coamix, the editorial house co-founded by City Hunter, Cat’s Eye mangaka Tsukasa Hojo and Fist of the North Star (Hokuto no Ken) illustrator Tetsuo Hara.

Long story short, Record of Ragnarok is a hot-blooded fighting manga. It’s almost similar to a boss rush or constant tournament arc, as we go from match to match of various historical figures and divinities fighting each other.

The first anime season of Record of Ragnarok was controversial for several aspects. Netflix ended up canceling its release in India due to the series’ religious references and characters. Some of the fans of the manga were also disappointed about the animation quality, which can be explained due to Record of Ragnarok being a Netflix project. It’s important to note the animation isn’t as bad as some made it out to be on social media though. Be sure to read more on the issue with our past coverage.

The Record of Ragnarok anime also has a lot of prolific veteran seiyuu if you’re into that, including Miyuki Sawashiro, who’s currently voicing The Raiden Shogun in Genshin Impact. All these seiyuu will be returning for Season 2.
