Red Dead Online Adds The Naturalist Pursuit in Latest Update

Red Dead Online players have a brand new role to dive into, along with tons of extra content and a new Outlaw Pass to work through.

Red Dead Online fans looking to become one with nature and “study the wonders of the animal kingdom” are in luck. The latest update adds a new Frontier Pursuit that lets players take on the role of The Naturalist. You’ll help conservationist Harriet Davenport track down and study some of the legendary animals that roam the land. Alternatively, you can jump onto Gus Macmillan’s wagon and murder all those beautiful creatures. Your choice! Give the announce trailer a watch below.

Yes, Red Dead Online fans, the new role gives you two paths. One sees you sedating animals to collect samples for Harriet to study, while the other has you poaching the same critters for hides and fortune. It’s your choice as you embark on a Pokémon-like journey to catalog all the wildlife in Red Dead‘s world.

Of course, the new role isn’t the only thing coming to Red Dead Online. Players will also have access to a new camera, weapons, and freemode events. The camera, in particular, looks fun, as you can earn different filters to improve your shots. The new guns include an improved bow and a new elephant rifle that should make killing large game much easier. You heartless poacher.

And, of course, the update comes with a new battle pass. It’s full of stuff for you to unlock whether you stick to the free one or upgrade to the Outlaw Pass. I will say, the paid version includes a new doggie that hangs out at your camp, so probably go for that one. He’s so cute!

Red Dead Online is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The Naturalist and all the content that comes with the new role is available now.
