More information about Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally beginning to be revealed more frequently by Rockstar Games, whether it be showcasing the towns that players will visit or announcing the beta for Red Dead Online. Today, we learned through IGN that Red Dead Redemption 2 will let players experience the game entirely in first-person.

This first-person perspective was first introduced in the next-gen versions of Grand Theft Auto V, so there is a precedent for the feature. That being said, I still find it surprising that they decided to implement it into Red Dead Redemption 2, as it can drastically change how players experience this Western. According to Rockstar, the cutscenes are the only part of the game that isn't in first-person.

On PS4, activating first-person mode in Red Dead Redemption 2 will be handled the same way as in Grand Theft Auto V. Players just have to tap the touchpad, and can cycle through a third-person, a cinematic camera, and a first-person. First-person mode will be included in the game at launch, so everyone who picks up the game will be able to choose how they want to experience it.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will be out for PS4 and Xbox One just over a month from now on October 26. If you want the game on launch day, you can pre-order it on Amazon.
