Red Dead Redemption 2 Comes to PC in November

A little over one year after originally releasing on consoles, Red Dead Redemption 2 will land on PC next month.

October 4, 2019

After a year’s worth of cries from fans, Rockstar Games announced today that it will indeed be bringing Red Dead Redemption 2 to PC and it’s coming far sooner than you might think.

Shared via Rockstar’s website, it was revealed that Red Dead Redemption 2 will drop next month on November 5 for PC users. The game will be available for purchase through Rockstar’s new PC storefront, the Rockstar Games Launcher, but it’ll also be coming virtually everywhere else. Red Dead Redemption 2 will hit Steam, Epic Games Store, Greenman Gaming, Humble Store, and retail stores like GameStop, too. Steam specifically won’t have the game added until December, however.

Those who pre-purchase the game through the Rockstar Games Launcher starting on October 9 and going through October 22 will also be able to net themselves two free games from the following list:

  • Grand Theft Auto III
  • Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
  • Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
  • Bully: Scholarship Edition
  • L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition
  • Max Payne 3: The Complete Edition

This marks the first time that a Red Dead Redemption game has come to PC. The original game never ended up hitting the platform, much to the dismay of many longtime fans. However, Rockstar’s other biggest property, Grand Theft Auto, has long been one of the most popular games on PC. GTA V specifically still has a major community on the platform, especially when it comes to the modding community. Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing how modders tackle RDR2 now.

If you haven’t already heard, Red Dead Redemption 2 was one of the best games of 2018 and is surely worth looking into now if you’re a PC player who has been interested in the title. The critically-acclaimed western is also available now on PS4 and Xbox One.
