After several trailers that showcased the game's visuals and environments, today Rockstar Games gave viewers a deep dive into Red Dead Redemption 2 with its first ever gameplay video, and given the incredible graphics that the trailer showed to viewers today, it shouldn't be too much of a surprise to know that the footage was captured through the enhanced capabilities of PS4 Pro.

According to the PlayStation Blog, the new footage released by Rockstar Games today for Red Dead Redemption 2 was captured "from in-game footage on PlayStation 4 Pro" and was confirmed to be displayed in 4K, though no specific details were provided as to the rendering method of its 4K visuals (which most likely would not be native, but perhaps employ checkerboard rendering or a similar graphics process).

In addition to the notion that the game will support PS4 Pro visual enhancements, Red Dead Redemption 2 will also support the ability to display 4K visuals and HDR on Xbox One X, so owners of either enhanced console will reap the benefits that Rockstar will surely have on offer with Red Dead Redemption 2.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will release for PS4 and Xbox One on October 26th, 2018. If you have yet to pick up a copy of the game, there’s still time to pre-order the game on Amazon ahead of its release this fall.
