Red Dead Redemption 2's Steelbook Hints at Two Discs, Supporting Earlier Reports
Early images of Red Dead Redemption 2's steelbook case may indicate that the game will come included with two discs.
Next week Red Dead Redemption 2 lands both digitally and physically, and we may have just seen a peek at a physical steel case edition of the upcoming title from Rockstar.
Posted on Instagram by a charlytorres_10, we get to see four images of what looks to be a legit Red Dead Redemption 2 steel case. The images that you can find below show the front and back of the case, but also the inside which seems to confirm that the game has two discs. Earlier in the week, previous reports began popping up that Red Dead Redemption 2 would include two discs after the back cover of the game’s Japanese box art was leaked. DualShockers reached out to Rockstar about the potential of Red Dead Redemption 2 coming on two discs, but as of this writing, they have not responded for comment.
Due to the size of the game being substantially large, we still aren’t sure if two discs would be required to install all of the content that comes included. It’s also worth noting that the Ultimate Edition of Red Dead Redemption 2–which is the version that comes in a steelbook case–doesn’t claim to include a bonus disc in its description. Regardless of what the truth is when it comes to the number of discs included, this steelbook looks pretty nice, especially with the accompanying art on the inside.
No matter what the case may be, we’ll surely find out soon enough with the game slated to release about one week from today. The trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 landed today and pre-loading begins tomorrow. Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available on October 26 for PS4 and Xbox One.
