Last year, THQ Nordic released Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered Edition, a remastered version of the classic third-person action game on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. This year, the publisher is now bringing the game to that one other platform that was noticeably absent last year.

As announced this morning, Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered Edition will now be releasing on the Nintendo Switch later this summer on July 2, 2019. This is the first time that Red Faction: Guerrilla has ever come to a Nintendo platform and while it'll mostly be the same as its counterparts on other platforms, there will be a few changes for the Switch version.

The most notable new feature is likely that of motion controls, which will be optional for use for those who might play the game in handheld mode. There are also various performance modes to go along with the obvious features like the updated graphics.

Here's the full list of supported features in this Switch edition of the game:

Nintendo Switch Features:

  • Choice between Performance and Quality Mode
  • Fully reworked graphics - heavily reworked textures and graphic features adding, for example, specular maps
  • Improved shadow rendering
  • Improved lighting
  • Reworked shaders and postprocessing
  • Optional Motion Controls for a better sense of aiming while playing in handheld mode

All in all, it seems like a pretty direct port to the Switch, but that's not a bad thing by any means. Red Faction: Guerrilla is still a fantastic game from the last console generation that more people should check out and getting it on the Switch does exactly that.
