Update: Word has come out that the beta will go live by April 12. What’s more is people looking to sign up for a chance to play the beta will have to do so by March 21st!

This year’s GDC saw one of the most unique announcements in the history of gaming. Developer Sucker Punch told the masses that inFAMOUS 2 will be getting the Play, Create, and Share attitude made famous by LittleBigPlanet. PS3 gamers everywhere will be able to generate “user-created missions” and upload them to the world via PSN. I, and fellow PS3 fanboys, couldn’t wait to grasp inFAMOUS 2‘s sandbox material even more. Luckily, Sony and Sucker Punch will keep some of us on a leash before the game’s release (June 7th).

A sweepstakes is currently being held over at where certain individuals will receive the inFAMOUS 2 beta. Currently, the beta will only feature the user-creation tools of the game and nothing tied to the story. Find out how to enter after the break.

Simply click here, choose your residential country, enter your date of birth and a valid e-mail, and you’ll be entered to receive an inFAMOUS 2 beta code. There has been no details on when the beta will take place or if their will be any specific requirements. One can only assume that PS Plus & PS Rewards members will get special privileges pertaining to the beta. Regardless of that assumption being correct, gamers will be chosen at random out of the sweepstakes.

Pretty much your above average gamer who plays games profusely and appreciates them even more. Been gaming since the NES but is in love with anything PlayStation. No I am not a typical fanboy...I appreciate each system for their strengths and recognize their weaknesses. I just love the PS brand. (Think along the lines as someone who likes to read but loves one author in particular). Ever since my time as #2 in the world at Resistance 2, I have taken video games much more seriously. Don't get me wrong, I am a laid back, fun guy to game with...but I always play to win.
