Remember Monday Night Combat? It's Coming to the PC

In a move that’s fitting, considering other recent gaming developments, indie developer Uber Entertainment announced last night that its Team Fortress 2-meets-Smash TV shooter Monday Night Combat would no longer be an Xbox exclusive.  According to its Steam page, Monday Night Combat will be available for the PC on January 17, 2011 for $15 and those who pre-order get access to the beta, which should be coming pretty soon, methinks.

I have to say, in a year when the 360’s been losing exclusives left and right, this is surprising yet not surprising all at once. What’s more questionable is Uber’s decision to port it to the PC to begin with; most PC gamers I know dismissed the game entirely as a shallow TF2 clone of sorts with all kinds of crazy balance issues that were, as far as I know, never fixed.  On top of that, indie games like this rarely have enough of a community to even warrant buying it.  Sad as it is to say, this might be one of those games that only has like ten people playing it. Guess we’ll see when it comes out in January.

Allen is an utter whore of a gamer; he's completely open-minded to all games, be they AAA blockbusters or $5 casual children's games. His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
