Developer Gunfire Games unveiled the first gameplay footage for Remnant: From the Ashes, their upcoming third-person survival action game. The studio is also working on Darksiders III, releasing later this year.

Remnant is said to contain "dynamic worlds, intense combat and strategic co-op." Judging from the gameplay trailer, the game appears to take place in a desolate Earth, with up to four players working together to defeat various alien creatures.

The shooter's gameplay is defined by adaptation—players can build characters that are suited to their gameplay style, but as they encounter challenging enemies in unique and "dynamically-generated" environments, these new scenarios will force the player to constantly adapt.

Like other titles in the genre, Remnant will feature gear and weapon crafting, melee combat, and large-scale boss battles. Attendees of Gamescom will have the opportunity to demo the game for themselves to see how it may differentiate itself from the competition. Remnant will release in 2019 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
