While Capcom is now looking forward to the release of the remake of Resident Evil 3 this coming April, it seems as though the Japanese publisher may not be done adding new content to this year's remake of Resident Evil 2.

Over on Steam recently, a new achievement appeared on the listing for Resident Evil 2 that seems to imply new additions of some sort could soon be arriving. The achievement, which is entitled "Chasing Jill" states that the player must "Read a letter left behind by Jill," in order to unlock it. The achievement is clearly referring to Jill Valentine, the protagonist of Resident Evil 3 in its description, meaning that this might be an easter egg of some sort that is meant to lead into the launch of RE3 next year.

As of now, the achievement hasn't been unlocked by anyone in the world, meaning that the means by which one would unlock this feat clearly haven't been added to the game just yet. As such, it stands to reason that Capcom could push out a new update for RE2 in the coming days or weeks. With The Game Awards set to take place tomorrow night, and Resident Evil 2 being one of the show's big nominees, perhaps Capcom will have an announcement of sorts to make during the event.

Regardless of what's going on here, we should likely find out in an official capacity soon enough considering the achievement has already popped up on Steam. Once we learn more, we'll share that info with you.

Resident Evil 2 is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The remake of Resident Evil 3 is set to hit the same platforms and will arrive next year on April 3.
