Resident Evil 2 Was The Best Selling Game on PSN In Europe During January
The success for Resident Evil 2 just keeps on building as it becomes the best selling title on the PlayStation Store in Europe during January.
Resident Evil 2 has hit the market and has widely been applauded from critics all across the internet. The game is certainly a true return to form and it is looking as if Capcom knows exactly what the fans of the series want after both this game and the fabulous Resident Evil 7. With that said, it comes to no surprise that it was the top-selling title on the PlayStation Store in Europe during the month of January.
In a PlayStation Blog post, it was noted that the classic remake topped the chart for the month, with a few surprises in their as well. The top ten best selling games are as followed:
- Resident Evil 2
- Grand Theft Auto V
- FIFA 2019
- Need For Speed Payback
- Playerunkown’s Battlegrounds
- Kingdom Hearts 3
- The Sims 4: Deluxe Party Edition
- The Forest
- Rocket League
- Battlefield V
Resident Evil 2 deserves the praise it is receiving and also the sales numbers the game is reaching. I am currently playing through my second run with Claire and am thinking about going back for a third run just for the fun of it. The design of the police station felt Metroidvania-ish and kept me on the lookout for new clues to keep on progressing and the ammo scarcity always had me second guessing if I should even waste my time shooting zombies. If you are a fan of survival horror, I think we have found possibly the best one in quite some time.
Now what is still a bit surprising to me was that Kingdom Hearts 3 was all the way down at number six. Granted, the game did just come out a couple days before the month ended. However, Resident Evil came out just a few more days before that, so it didn’t have that much of a head start. I know Kingdom Hearts will sell an incredible amount of copies though and nobody should probably read to much into this.
Resident Evil 2 is currently available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. If you would like to pick up the game, you can do so right here through Amazon. If you are still a bit wary about picking it up, go ahead and check out DualShockers’ in-depth review of the title for much more insight.
