Resident Evil 2 has had a strong release, with the remake having the second highest concurrent player count of any Capcom game on Steam. Now, the game has also garnered another accolade. It has debuted at the No.1 spot on the UK charts for a second time.

After the first game managed to hit the No.1 UK spot back in 1998, Resident Evil 2 is back on its throne.

The last time Capcom had such a big launch was when Resident Evil 7 reached the No.1 spot. Though Resident Evil 2 (2019) hasn't outsold Resident Evil 7, it's just the best selling game in the UK right now, according to the UKIE/GfK rankings.

Resident Evil 2 (2019) is being touted as one of the best remakes of all time (by our very own Logan Moore) who gave the game a nine out of ten for being "Remarkable."

Coming in at No.2 is Red Dead Redemption 2, followed by Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown has held on, falling from the No.2 spot last week to No.6 this week.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has continued its steady decline in the charts from No.6 to No.7, and–of course–Grand Theft Auto V remains on the list as one of the best-selling games in the UK a ridiculous six years after it launched.
