After the remake of Resident Evil 3 seemingly leaked via the PlayStation Store earlier this week, many assumed that the game would formally be revealed next week by Capcom during The Game Awards 2019. However, according to Geoff Keighley, the host and producer of the annualized awards show, this won't end up being the case.

In a new AMA (ask me anything) on Reddit, Keighley blatantly said that Resident Evil 3 will not be making an appearance during The Game Awards. "There are no plans (never were) to do anything with Resident Evil 3 at the show. A lot of these 'leaks' are completely wrong," Keighley stated. "Nothing about our show has leaked as of this writing."

Keighley's statement here seems to imply that the Resident Evil 3 leaks that happened earlier this week are actually "wrong" and that the game isn't happening after all. That said, he could be referring to other rumors and leaks that have come about in recent days/weeks as well. This time of year, there are always countless rumors spinning about what could be appearing at The Game Awards and it's good to hear that whatever Keighley and his team have up their sleeve in terms of announcements haven't been divulged just yet.

As for when Capcom could formally reveal this remake of Resident Evil 3, the publisher is slated to attend Jump Festa in Japan later this month and is said to unveil two new games at this event. As of now, this seems like the most likely time in which we may hear more about RE3.
