In an appropriately spooky trailer, Nintendo revealed in their E3 2019 Direct that Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 will both come to Nintendo Switch. If the already-expansive collection of Resident Evil games on Switch aren't enough for you already, these two additions arriving this fall should quell fans.This past May brought the re-release of Resident Evil, Resident Evil 0, and Resident Evil 4 to the portable hybrid console. The trailer shown off in the Direct had two unsuspecting youngsters enter a spooky and obviously haunted cabin to play the original Resident Evil, which appears to be the next natural use case after millennial rooftop parties. Obviously, things go awry in said haunted cabin.We generally had positive impressions on the Switch re-releases, with our review of Zero, our feature on Resident Evil 4, and our thoughts on how the remake of the original game has aged since then. With the additions of 5 and 6, Switch owners can build a comprehensive collection, but they will still be missing Resident Evil 7, which released in Japan in cloud streaming form, and the acclaimed remake of Resident Evil 2.Be sure to check out the E3 2019 trailer for Resident Evil 5 and 6 below.
