As you may have heard last week, Jeanette Maus, who voiced a variety of characters in Capcom’s upcoming Resident Evil Village, sadly passed away at the young age of 39 years old after a lengthy eight month battle with colon cancer. Maus is the voice of one of Lady Dimitrescu’s “daughters” that makes up the House of Dimitrescu. The gaming community quickly gathered to offer their condolences to the actor but as well as offering their heartfelt sympathies, fans wanted to give more by donating money to help support the friends and family of Maus in this difficult time.

The Resident Evil community and fans of Maus' previous work at Charm City Kings and Lynn Shelton’s Your Sister’s Sister, have been giving what they can in the form of donations to Maus' GoFundMe page that had been set up to help her with her expensive medical bills that not only consisted of ongoing cancer treatments but also Jeanette's Crohn’s disease. With a target initially set at $60k, the GoFundMe page has now passed its original goal and is currently sitting at $61,496.

This is a fantastic feat that will help Maus' family pay off the medical bills that had accumulated while Jeanette was unable to work during her battle with cancer. I imagine it should also help towards Maus' funeral costs and other expenses so continuing to donate to the cause will certainly help the family out during this terrible period in their lives. To see Maus in action and to appreciate her incredible talent, take a look at the Resident Evil Showcase from Capcom where her memory will always live on. If you can afford to donate, however big or small, you can visit the GoFundMe page right here.

Resident Evil Village will release for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 7, 2021.
