There is a New Resident Evil Character Named Martin Sandwich
Thank you, Capcom.
Before the end of 2019, Capcom has submitted one final entry to contend with Hideo Kojima for dumbest character name of the year.
Martin Sandwich, yes, Sandwich, is the newest character that Capcom today announced will be coming to Project Resistance next year. Project Resistance is the multiplayer aspect of the upcoming remake of Resident Evil 3 and Mr. Sandwich will be one of the Survivor characters that you’ll be able to utilize within the game. Martin is described as “a skilled engineer and mechanic” who can also “create traps to slow down or stun enemies.” He also comes equipped with a pretty bad haircut.

I’m not really sure how Capcom decided to give Martin Sandwich this name, but I’m also not really complaining about it. The idea of some dude named Sandwich squaring off against Mr. X in Project Resistance makes me laugh really hard. What’s weird though is that that other playable characters we’ve seen so far in Project Resistance don’t have odd names like Martin here does. Maybe some more characters with strange surnames will be revealed soon enough for this multiplayer experience, though.
Martin Sandwich will make his debut in Project Resistance next year when Resident Evil 3 launches on April 3, 2020, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
