The newest computer-animated movie in the Resident Evil franchise is coming to theaters soon, but it’s not going to be running for long.
Resident Evil: Vendetta is the newest title to follow Resident Evil: Damnation (2012) and Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008) in the CG film-verse. The theatrical release is the result of a collaboration between Sony and Fathom Events. The companies plan to bring the movie to theaters for one night, internationally on May 27 and in North America on June 19.
According to Fathom Events CEO John Rubey, this iteration in the film franchise will be “scarier and more thrill-inducing” than previous installments.
Tickets for the one-night show will become available in the U.S. on March 31. For more information on Vendetta’s release, visit Fathom’s event page for the movie’s showing in your region.
Also, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’s DVD/Blu-Ray release date was announced today, along with what special features the home release will include. Along with features titled “Explore the Hive” and “The Badass Trinity & The Women of Resident Evil,” the release will also include a clip from Vendetta. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter will be released digitally on May 2, and physically on May 16.
