Resident Evil: Vendetta Receives New Trailer
Releases in theaters nationwide this summer.
Sony Pictures has recently released a new trailer for their upcoming movie Resident Evil: Vendetta. This new Resident Evil movie is the is the third in the CGI series of films alongside Resident Evil: Degeneration and Resident Evil: Damnation.
The film’s plot takes place after the events of Resident Evil 6 and sometime before the events of the recently released Resident Evil VII: Biohazard. Resident Evil fans will recognize the protagonists of the movie: Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield, and Rebecca Chambers, who is making her return to the franchise for the first time in a few years. The three of them, as seen in the trailer below, are trying to stop villain Glenn Arias from releasing a terrifying new virus known as “The Trigger Virus” in the middle of New York City. We also see a couple new characters in this new trailer but there are still no details as to who they are.
Takashi Shimizu, the creator of The Grudge film series, will be serving as an executive producer on the film. Vendetta is written by Makoto Fukami and being directed by Takanori Tsujimoto. Matthew Mercer will also be returning to voice Leon Kennedy once again after previously voicing him in Damnation. No other voice actors have been listed as of yet.
Resident Evil: Vendetta still doesn’t have a specific release date, but it will appear in theaters across the country this summer. Be sure to watch the new trailer to see the creepy mansions, familiar characters, and intense action sequences for yourself.
