The mistress of Castle Dimitrescu comes out to play in new concept art and...shoe size reveal?

There's no getting away from it, Lady Dimitrescu is going nowhere fast. And where would she hide anyway? The woman is 9’6” tall, it's not like she can stuff herself in a cupboard.

With Resident Evil Village right around the corner next month, art director Tomonori Takano has shared some never-before-shown concept art of the Internet's most loved Vampire Lady as well as what shoe size the enormous woman takes to hold that frame.

Lady Dimitrescu Concept Art

In an exclusive with IGN, concept art has been revealed of Lady Dimitrescu and her "daughters". Resident Evil's art director, Tomonori Takano, states that “I drew a piece of concept art in which she stoops down to get through a doorway. That’s when I felt that this was going to work out.”

Talking about the early stages of designing and test phrase of developing the "Tall Lady", Takano said “We reused the character model of Mia from Resident Evil 7 and made her wear a dress and hat. I thought that this would be enough to give her a ghost-like quality, but we couldn’t make her feel scary. Then, we decided to make the character model much larger. That was the beginning of Lady Dimitrescu.”

Resident Evil's director, Morimasa Sato chimed in to mention the process in how Lady Dimitrescu came to be the intimidating colossal villain we now know “We tried a lot of different things in order to make the Countess scary and feel like a boss character. There were ideas to make her more creature-like as well, but in the end, we felt that a towering woman was the most simple yet powerful thing we could do.”

Lady Dimitrescu shoe size

I'm sure everyone has wondered at some stage what size of shoe can hold that massive frame of the mistresses (or maybe that's just me). Thankfully, Takano divulged this information for those who just need to know.

Lady Dimitrescu’s shoe size is, unsurprisingly, 44 cm (17.3 inches), naturally doubling the average women’s shoe size. Takano also told IGN that her shoes were derived from a real-life pair of heels that had been scanned and then placed onto Dimitrescu’s tall frame to match up correctly.

Resident Evil Village is set for release on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S|X on May 7, this year.
