We explore who Rosemary Winters is in Resident Evil Village and also why she's important to Mother Miranda.

If you've just started the newly launched Resident Evil Village, you will have already gotten a glimpse of Rosemary Winters in the opening scenes of the game.

While there are many characters to explore and get to know throughout your time with the game like Lady Dimitrescu, Karl Heisenberg and Chris Redfield, let's focus a little on Rose Winters and what her importance is to the Resident Evil Village narrative.

The following contains spoilers for the Resident Evil Village story and plot.

Who is Rosemary Winters?

Rosemary Winters is the daughter of Mia and Ethan Winters. Players get to meet, and even hold, little baby Rose as Ethan right from the beginning of the game. Of course, this being Resident Evil and all, peaceful moments like that don't last too long when Rose is snatched by agents working for Mother Miranda.

What is Rosemary's Connection to Mother Miranda?

As you progress through the game as Ethan looking for your daughter Rose, players begin to understand why Rose has been taken by Mother Miranda. Uncovered documents found by Ethan in Miranda's lab found out that when the Spanish Influenza hit the world, Miranda lost her daughter Eva to the deadly virus.

Taking Rose and making the baby her own, Miranda believed that capturing her would help to revive her own daughter that she lost many years ago. Obviously, nothing is as easy as that as players start to understand.
