Resident Evil Village Will Reportedly Feature Lots of Side Characters

New rumors suggest that villagers and side characters will play key roles in Resident Evil Village.

As a direct sequel to Resident Evil 7, the very first title of the series with the first-person view, Resident Evil Village has more room to improve the horror and action experience that we’ve had in its predecessor. As the new rumors reveal, it seems Capcom will be examining more first-ever features in the franchise with the next Resident Evil game.

AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem, who had already leaked the existence of Resident Evil 8 before its announcement, shared some new information about the game recently, claiming that there will be lots of side characters in the upcoming Resident Evil title and they will play a key role in the story.

Usually, we don’t get to see a lot of human NPCs in Resident Evil games as you are sieged by thousands of infected zombies and the number of companions barely reaches five. As a result, encountering lots of villagers in Resident Evil Village would be a new experience for veterans of the series, and may somehow change the structure of story-telling in the game.

While nothing has been confirmed officially, the reveal trailer for Resident Evil 8 features a bunch of different characters that we don’t know many of them yet. However, if villagers are going to have an undeniable impact on the story, it might refer to the existence of side missions in the game, something that we haven’t seen in Resident Evil 7.

Capcom has already revealed that there’s much to learn about the village that we will be exploring in the new Resident Evil game, and there are some mysteries behind the game’s name too.

Resident Evil Village will be hitting Xbox Series X, PS5, and PC in 2021. It’s yet to be seen whether Capcom decides to bring it to the current-gen consoles or not, though the graphics in the reveal trailer doesn’t seem too high to ignore PS4 and Xbox One.
