Respawn New IP Focuses on Boss Fights, Class-Based Characters, and Skill Progression

A job listing on Respawn Entertainment website hints at an upcoming RPG.

The Respawn new IP might be another third-person action game like the latest Star Wars Jedi.

Respawn Entertainment has been one of the beloved developers in the world since they launched Titanfall back in 2014.

For many, Titanfall was an incredible innovation in delivering a fast-paced first-person multiplayer experience with a lot of unique features. The popularity of the developers grew even more with Titanfall 2.

After joining the Electronic Arts studios, Respawn Entertainment delivered two more critically-acclaimed titles: Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order. Both games received an incredible reception from the players.

Now, it’s been quite a few months that we know a new IP is being developed at Respawn entertainment. While there are no official details on the Respawn new IP, a recent job listing on the studio’s website shares a little bit of information on the upcoming new experience.

Respawn Entertainment New IP Job Listing

According to the details shared on a job opening for a lead combat designer, the studio is looking for someone experienced in “control mechanics, enemy design, AI behaviors, combat/weapon, class design, skill/progression, story, and boss encounters.”

Although the things mentioned above can be found in a number of genres, the studio’s recent success with Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order might force it toward another game in the same genre.

However, a brand new RPG IP could also be possible after Electronic Arts’ multiple failures in the genre with Mass Effect Andromeda and Anthem over the past years.

Next month, Electronic Arts will host its annual EA Play event, in which we might see more about the upcoming projects from Respawn Entertainment, including their brand new IP.
