Re:Zero - The Prophecy of the Throne is a mix between Tactical RPG and visual novel, new heroine Melty was designed by Shinichirō Ōtsuka.

The upcoming Re:Zero Tactical RPG + Adventure game got its first gameplay trailer over at New Game+ Expo. The trailer, and new screenshots, most notably reveal the game's brand new original character, Melty.

Melty is the mysterious 6th candidate to the throne that appeared before Subaru and co. Her voice actress wasn't revealed yet. She seems pretty friendly judging from the screenshots.

The trailer and screenshots focus on the Adventure part of the game. We don't see any footage of the Tactical RPG battles. Overall, the game will probably have more talking than fighting. As it is often the case with these types of games. While nothing was officially confirmed yet, it's likely there will be various routes with each Heroine. And Subaru can probably end with Melty.

Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World is initially a web novel written by Tappei Nagatsuki and published online on Shōsetsuka ni Narō from 2012. A light novel version illustrated by Shinichirō Ōtsuka started in 2014, published by Media Factory (Kadokawa). Shinichirō Ōtsuka is also handling this game’s illustrations, and designed Melty.

Re:Zero is part of the "Isekai" trend and is popular worldwide thanks to its anime adaptation. As such, it was only a matter of time till more game adaptations happened. Re:Zero is rumored to be pretty good and straying from the usual patterns found in all Isekai stories. Personally, I've never watched the anime, so I cannot share with you my Unneeded Opinion on the series.

You can check the newest screenshots below. More screenshots and the game's first story details have been previously shared by Spike Chunsoft. The game was announced in the west slightly after the Japanese reveal.
