Mirror’s Edge 2, the highly-anticipated sequel to 2008’s Mirror’s Edge, was announced last year during EA’s press conference. Immediately after its announcement, many fans and gamers inquired with Ms. Rhianna Pratchett, writer of game’s story, if whether or not she was to be involved with the game’s production. Unforunately her answer was in the resoundingly negative.
Since then, Ms. Pratchett has still been asked whether she would be involved in the game, and today re-confirmed via Twitter that she is not involved in the game, nor was she asked. She even cited the quality of Mirror’s Edge‘s story as a possible reason for her not being contacted for the sequel. “It’s really lovely that people care enough to ask whether I’m involved with Mirror’s Edge 2, but I’m not & wasn’t asked,” Ms. Pratchett wrote, “let’s face it ME1’s story didn’t review that great (for many reasons). So I consider myself a casualty of that development process.” However, in regards to DICE themselves, Ms. Pratchett had nothing but words of encouragement; “go with God,” she said, “create cool stuff. We always need more of that.”
Mirror’s Edge 2 is being developed by DICE and will be published by EA for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
