Today, developer Drool announced via Twitter that its rhythm violence game Thumper will be coming to Nintendo Switch later this month on May 18.

This version of the game was announced in March and promised to make use of the console’s HD rumble. Drool mentioned this feature again today in the announcement tweet when asking fans, “Ready for Rumble Violence?”.

Drool also confirmed that the game will run in 1080p when docked and 720p on the Switch screen when undocked. Additionally, both ways to play the game will run at 60 frames per second.

Thumper originally released last year to mostly positive fan and critic reviews. If you’re unfamiliar with the concept of the game, then here’s a quick rundown:

Thumper is rhythm violence: classic rhythm-action, blistering speed, and brutal physicality. You are a space beetle. Brave the hellish void and confront a maniacal giant head from the future.

An Xbox One version of Thumper is still on the way but no release information has been given yet. Currently, you can play Thumper on PC where it is compatible with HTC Vive and Oculus Rift VR headsets. Additionally, it is available on PS4 where it is able to be played with PSVR.

The Switch version of the game will retail for $20 when it arrives in the Nintendo eShop. We will keep you posted to let you know when Thumper will be arriving on the Xbox One.
