The popular science fiction sitcom, Rick and Morty, is finally returning with its much-awaited Season 6. The official Twitter account of the TV show recently confirmed that Season 6 of the American adult animated series would premiere on Sunday, September 4th, 2022, at 11 PM ET (Eastern Timing).

“More than a hit show, it is truly a global phenomenon. As we prepare to launch this soon-to-be iconic season, we will be giving fans a unique way to be part of the fun – so keep your eyes peeled,” said Michael Ouweleen, the President of Adult Swim and Cartoon Network (Via: TV Line).

Created by Justin Roiland for Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block, Rick and Morty follow the adventures of the Smith family. The show is primarily about Rick, the narcissist scientist who drags his grandson Morty and other family members on terrifying space adventures. So far, the creators have given us five incredible seasons of Rick and Morty. The fifth season premiered last year in June and featured ten fantastic episodes, and now, the community is looking forward to seeing what Season 6 will have to offer.

Rick and Morty's fandom is accustomed to waiting for around two years before getting a new season. But fortunately, Adult Swim didn't want us to wait that long for Season 6. Of course, it's exciting that we'll get new episodes in a couple of months, but Adult Swim has yet to release a trailer for the new season. For now, we only have a new teaser visual in which Rick and Morty are flexing their toned abs.

After only a couple of seasons, Rick and Morty became a cultural phenomenon, so it's no surprise that the network ordered 70 more episodes of the TV show in 2018. Since that announcement, we've got two further seasons that featured 20 more episodes. The creators still have 50 more episodes left, so the critically-acclaimed animated series will run for at least five more seasons. Moreover, each season of Rick and Morty had ten episodes, so it's safe to assume that the episode count for Season 6 would be the same.
