Ridge Racer Unbounded "Breaks All The Rules" and Takes It "Into The Streets"

By Justin Hutchison

February 6, 2011

Looks like the Ridge Racer franchise is getting a bit of an overhaul in an attempt to stay relevant. The newest installation, Unbounded, is gunning for the NFS/Burnout crowd, proclaiming that it will “shake up the genre by breaking all the rules and plenty of cars along the way”. The game also has a new mantra: “Drive, Destroy, Dominate”. I assume that some executive saw his kid playing Burnout Paradise and decided to model the entire franchise after that. However, it is being developed by Bugbear Entertainment, the studio responsible for the FlatOut series and Sega Rally Revo, who have done some good work previously. Ridge Racer Grammatically Questionable Title is set to come out at some point in 2012.
