Ring in 2014 with the New Year Game Jam to Make a Game on Dec 31st

Don’t have any New Year’s Eve plans/parties to attend? Why not try to develop your own game to ring in the New Year?

The Seasonal Jam Week team is kicking off its second annual New Year Game Jam to celebrate 2014, as the team invites both aspiring and professional game developers to spend their New Year’s Eve celebrations making a game and sharing it with the rest of the world. As the organization’s website post mentions, the New Year Game Jam is for anyone that is “not busy on New Year’s Eve. Be it due to you not liking parties, or because you have nobody to celebrate with or whatever else.”

Other than the time/date restrictions (the program runs from 12am on December 31st to 12am on January 2nd, in their respective time zones), the rules for those who want to participate in the New Year Game Jam are very relaxed: developers can use any tools that they like to develop their game, and utilize as many people to help create the project.

You can check out more information on the New Year Game Jam here and start planning your New Year’s Eve (and potential game in progress) now.
