Riot Games has shared that its systems in the development environment have been compromised earlier this week. However, the company has also confirmed that no personal data has been stolen from users.

The company's official Twitter account states that the recent attack will have a negative impact on updates for multiple games. "Unfortunately, this has temporarily affected our ability to release content," reads the tweet. This might mean that players should expect patches to arrive between longer periods of time in the upcoming weeks. While the company reiterates that it is investigating the social engineering attack, it says that it doesn't have "all the answers right now," and wants to confirm that no personal or player data have been affected by the attackers. This means that usernames, passwords, and other types of data were not claimed by the person or the people behind the attack.

Following Riot Games' tweet, League of Legends' official Twitter account also gave a heads-up, saying that the release date of the 13.2 patch might arrive later than expected. "The League team is working to stretch the limits of what we can hotfix in order to deliver the majority of the planned and tested balance changes on time still," reads the post. Before the complications, the highly-anticipated 13.2 update was scheduled to roll out on January 25.

As the first update of 2023, the delayed content was to bring a wide array of changes to Ahri, including its ability icons, visual updates across the Legend's skins, and a new voiceover. The changes are known as the Art and Sustainability Update, or ASU for short. But due to the recent attack, the update may be transferred to the 13.3 patch. The developer posted that it might ship the update with the second patch of 2023, which is scheduled to roll out on February 8. The delayed content also aimed to introduce balance tweaks to Teamfight Tactics.

Currently, there is no specific news about how the attack will affect Valorant's updates, but Riot states that it expects the new situation to affect "patch cadence across multiple games," so fans of the hero-based shooter should expect a similar situation as well.
