Liz La Londe of Riot Games' Marketing Communications team announced and explained the change in a post on the developer's website, with the aim being to protect user accounts and minimize risks.Two-factor authentication is a step up from the login portal's previous security measure, which only required gamers to enter a code when logging on from an unfamiliar device. Two-factor authentication functions in a few simple steps. When players attempt to log in via Riot Games' official portal, a unique six-digit code will be sent to the player's email. A checkbox can be selected to only require two-factor authentication every 30 days.
