Last night, a post shared by Andrew Brownell on his LinkedIn account, revealing that he will be partnering with Netflix's gaming division for a new project that sounds pretty unique and interesting. But who is Andrew Brownell and what the project could be? Let's find out more!

Who Is Andrew Brownell

Andrew Brownell is a game designer and creative director who has been with Riot Games for nearly five years in two different periods. He has also worked for Blizzard Entertainment as well.

Based on his LinkedIn account, Brownell's career started as a Quality Assurance Analyst in Blizzard Entertainment, after which he moved to Red 5 Studios to become the game designer, level designer, and world builder overseeing an MMORPG called Firefall, which turned into a dead project almost six years after it's closed beta launched.

With his experiences from Firefall and Red 5 Studios, Andrew Brownell became Update Lead and Gameplay Balance Lead for over two years from 2013.

For a short period - 7 months - he became the Senior Game Designer for Heroes of the Storm at Blizzard Entertainment and then returned to Riot Games as Maps and Mods Lead for another 2 years until 2018.

What Is the Upcoming Netflix Gaming Project?

As Brownell revealed in his LinkedIn post, he was pretty impressed with the vision of Netflix's gaming division "to create game experiences that aim to delight players above all else."

This description does sound like a unique project, but unfortunately, we don't have any further clues on what this could be like.

Brownell also revealed some of his partners in this project such as Amir Rahimi, who has been an Electronic Arts veteran for 7 years, and Mike Verdu, who also has had gaming experiences at EA and Atari.

Currently, there is no release schedule for the project or even its announcement, but we will keep you updated if we get any new info around it.
